Join us this coming Wednesday 16th October for an informative session on environmental water security for the Maribyrnong.

The next Think Tank promises to be a good one! We have three presenters bringing unique perspectives on environmental water:
|
- Matthew Hudson (Southern Rural Water) will share preliminary work on farm dams and groundwater use in the Maribyrnong Catchment (10:30-11:00).
- Ying Quek (Ecofutures) will discuss the current environmental flows study in the Maribyrnong catchment (11:00-11:30).
- Bella Schaffer (Greater Western Water) will present a feasibility study on returning surface water entitlements to the environment and Traditional Owners in the upper Maribyrnong (11:30-12:00).
We’ll finish with a discussion on how the community can get involved in understanding and influencing water flow.

The Water Think Tank is a network of people in the Maribyrnong who want to understand water and waterways and how they are managed. Government agencies have the powers and the budget for managing water, but we can raise questions, grapple with the dilemmas of managing water and speak up for our creeks and river. Along the way, we want to expand from the committed few to water literate communities.
