Letter to the Water Minister
You may have seen on our socials that we have shared an open letter to the new Water Minister Michaela Settle. The letter will be sent next Monday 31st August including all the signatures. We had a target of 100 signatures and within 48 hours we had already reached that target!
|
So, given we have a little time up our sleeves, we are now aiming to get 200 signatures. If you haven't already, please sign our letter and let the new Water Minister Michaela Settle know how much waterways mean to our community.

Here's a snapshot of why people are signing our letter:
|
- I love our Maribyrnong River and want to see my children's children enjoy it too!
- I love this river and its tributaries and without enough water it will die in time.
- Without clean drinking water, we have nothing. Let’s not let companies sacrifice a basic human right for the sake of profit. Water is sacred and should be treated as such.
- We care about our river and the life it sustains.
- The river is life… and yet the Maribyrnong River needs palliative care. Do what is right, save the river please
- It's time to deliver on the promise of environmental flow for the Maribyrnong.
- Dear Minister Settle, The Maribyrnong is a living river that needs water to thrive. Wurundjeri Woi-wurrung also need to be given more say in the future of this living river. You can act to implement existing Victorian government policy to address both of these issues immediately.
|
If you feel as strongly as these people and you haven't already, please join us by signing our open letter and letting the Water Minister know how much the community cares. You might pass on the link to others you think would be interested too.
