Water Think Tank: Maribyrnong Catchment Key Project Updates - Wednesday, 5 November
Our November Water Think Tank will be a great opportunity to hear updates on two key projects we’ve discussed throughout the year, both central to the preservation of flows in the Maribyrnong catchment.
Firstly, Matthew Hudson (Southern Rural Water) will present the findings of the Farm Dams and Domestic & Stock Water Use Study, exploring how farm dam proliferation and management practices are impacting catchment flow and long-term water availability.
Next, Dr Claudette Keller and Dr Sara Long (RMIT University) will share insights from the Sunbury Ecotoxicology Study, which assesses the potential environmental impacts of using highly treated recycled water to supplement flows in Jacksons Creek.
We’ll also receive a brief update from Greater Western Water, outlining their security of supply planning and future outlook, including messaging and engagement leading into summer.

Date: Wednesday, 5 November 2025
